Come on you lot the two medals look like the Egyptian Medal (1882-89) & Khedive's Egyptian Star (1882-1891).

Well, I'll have to take your word for it.  :-\
Simply can't tell from what I can see on my screen.
2 medals yes. Round or star-shaped, no idea.

I can check the 1882 Egypt roll, but it would still be nice to see a high-res photo first. Maybe the collar badge can be ID'd, maybe we can see clasps (or not) on the first medal.

Just thought, if the second is indeed star-shaped there's the Afghan/Kabul to Kandahar pair to consider as well.

Thanks for all you help on this.  I've been away so would have responded sooner.  I would love to re-scan the picture, but at the moment it's been sent off of Your Family Tree mag.  When it returns I will try again.

I don't know when Francis was born (chap on right), but his grand daughter was born in 1923 so I am assuming this daughter would be born around the 1900's and Francis possibly 1880's - Its almost impossible to gain any bmd or census returns for Gilbraltar on-line?  Believe me I've tried.
