Hello, I haven't looked at family history for a long time. Good to have this information, maybe sometime in the future when I get to Kew I may be able to find this John lawson in the muster books

Hi, below is the link to the British India Office record. I have a copy of the original burial record but it is too large to post here, I tried it yesterday but was informed it was too large a file.

Its a register of burials at Kurrachee, Lower Scinde, in the year 1846
July 23d, John Lawson, 37 years, Corpl HM's 60th Rifles, buried at Kurrachee, H H Brereton, Chaplain.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Unfortunately the record does not say whether he was killed in action or died from other means.
There was a cholera epidemic in that region in 1846 so perhaps that was what caused his death.
