hi
have you tried the Honiton area or Sidbury - Salcombe regis - I have a Samuel Leat born 1836c in Sidbury on my family tree.

I know it's not the same one, but might be worth checking that area.
Leat - Gosling & Woodman are the main Surnames.

Hi  Sue / Pjay,

Thanks for the posts.

Sue, your post looks pretty good.

Unfortunately, I have no further information on this family. It's a case of rubbing a couple of genealogical twigs together and hoping that it will lead to a blaze of information.

Is it possible to access the marriage record and possibly get the name of Charlotte's father please?

I have a number of Gloucestershire Rossiters. Just hoping for some clue as to which one it is.

Best wishes

Hi Sue,

Just found this on the IGI:-
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/IGI/individual_record.asp?recid=100068827405&lds=1&region=2&regionfriendly=British+Isles&frompage=99

Could this  be Charlotte? If so can we identify the parents please?

Best wishes

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I`ve been poking around to see what,  if anything,  I could find.  I found the marriage of Charlotte & Samuel but unfortunately there are no details given regarding Charlotte`s father.  I didn`t have anything on the marriage of Moses & Mary but there are two possibilities on the IGI, both extracted records:-

Moses Rossiter & Mary Elliott
4th June 1804 at St Michaels

Moses Rossiter & Mary Hockford
12th July 1802 at Sts Philip & Jacob

The only baptism for a Moses Rossiter I can find is this one:-

Moses Rossiter - 23rd August 1778 at Sts Philip & Jacob
Parents - James & Ann
Occupation - Labourer
Address - Jacob Street

Then finally this burial record:-

Moses Rossiter - Age 57 - 7th February 1836 at St Paul, Portland Square
