George G. Grant Highland Light Infantry

Looking for help finding any service related information about George Gardiner Grant. Born Camlachie, Glasgow in 1898. Apparently served with H.L.I. during First World War - may have stated he was older than he actually was. Was gassed during war and came out of army as a sergeant. Have looked through the various war records on Ancestry but found nothing definite. Also checked with regimental organisation that incorporates H.L.I. but they to not hold such detailed information. George married Helen Peggie (?) in 1938 and died Edinburgh 1950's.
