Emigration to Montreal Canada-Info needed?
« on: Monday 31 March 08 18:27 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have a Samuel McLauchlan who emigrated to Montreal Canada in 1923 aged 25 but can find no information after this date, this was the date he sailed.
He was born in 1898 in Leith Edinburgh to John and Jessie McLauchlan m/s Heatlie who also emigrated out there some years later. I have the passenger list from the findmypast website but was looking for his death date out there? Has anyone any idea on any websies that could tell me abit more.
Dawn

Did Samuel stay in Montreal or was that merely where the ship arrived in Canada?

As far as i am aware he stayed in Montreal. His brother John followed him out in the same year but a few months later.
On the ships passenger list i have it says that the ship was bound for Montreal and the intended country of permanent residence is Canada. Thats all i know.

If he did stay in Canada it might be difficult to get lots of information. See here for some sites to have a look at:
