Thanks for all your help.My newly found family members now agree that the Blanchard family on the 1891 census RG12/3878 folio 43 p.3 and the Blanchard family on the 1901 census RG13/4429 Folio 43 p.14 are one and the same. They were surprised and pleased to hear about Charley and Henry.
Any chance you can track down anything on Alice b.1897 and Elsie b.1906

Cheers, Cyndy

I'm not sure exactly what information you're looking for.

FreeBMD has this birth:

Elsie BLANCHARD Mar 1906 Selby 9c 996 (NB in your first message you had Elsie's birthdate as 1902 ???)

Glad to hear you and the newly-discovered rellies are in agreement!

Hi Anna , many thanks again for your help. The date I have for Elsies birth is only from the Barnados records of 1918 which name her as an aunt aged 12 years.
I think I was just wondering if she had married and had a family. We know about Annie, her marriage and family members up to 1957 but nothing about Mary, Alice or Annie apart from their d of b.

A real breakthrough for me would be to find out more about my mothers half brother George,Maurice Ward, her half sisters Dorothy and Nellie Ward aged 7,5 and 2 in 1918[according to Barnados records]. They may have been born in the Sharrow area where their father Charles was in service as a groom.I have found his marriage to my grandmother and possibly earlier family members too.

Anyway,I  am very grateful for all your help.I`ll keep searching.

Cheers, Cyndy

Hi Anna,Thanks for this info.which certainly fits the little I know about my mother`s half sisters.Perhaps I`ll be able to find their marriages if they survived to adulthood.I thought that there might have been a further child after my mother`s illegitmate birth in 1917.
Thanks again for all your help.

Cyndy, any marriages for the half-siblings will be too late to be currently indexed on FreeBMD, but the complete indexes are available on the pay site www.findmypast.com.  I'm afraid it will be a question of trawling through quarter by quarter.

Thanks Anna, You can tell I`m still quite a novice in my family history research!!But I`m learning all the time and Roots Chat has been a wonderful discovery.
My newly discovered relations are now going to register with Rootschat.I picked up the phone and spoke to a `cousin` for the first time this evening. Our grandmothers were sisters and she has been able to send me photos of her grandmother, my great aunt. Our next plan is to meet up and then I can visit Sherburn and South Duffield where my mothers family lived.

Best wishes to you and all fellow rootschatters,
Cyndy
