Langford in Ellington, Parish Records lookup please
« on: Friday 14 January 05 17:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Could somebody please lookup the name Seagrave Langford in the Parish records for Ellington.

Seagrave was born in C1790 and we have his parents listed as Henry and Frances Langford but cannot find out any further information about them.

Any information, particularly about where his family originated from, would be extremely usefull.

Many thanks in advance.....Paula

Hi Paula,

If you don't mind me asking, where did the information come from that he was the child of Henry and Frances Langford?

Regards,

Mark.

FreeReg has baptisms for children of Henry and Frances Langford and of Seagrave and Catherine Langford all in Yaxley. No baptism for Seagrave though, although he was buried in Yaxley in 1872 aged 82.

Hope my response does not breach guidelines.
Seagrave Langford is in my one place study for Yaxley. There are no baptisms prior to 1797 so he may well have lived there but baptised elsewhere, freereg has nothing helpful for now.
Just noticed date on original post, sure fire waste of time when OP has not been active for 16 years.

Hi warncoort,

You have nothing to tie him to Henry and Frances Langford do you?

I ask because I have an interest in the family.  I am struggling to find anything re their marriage. They appear to have suffered an awful lot of trauma with the early deaths of their childer.

Regards,

Mark.

Seagrave may have been baptised in any parish between Helpston and Yaxley, the possible connection is that his first son was named Henry. The Yaxley born children fit the timeline.
Familysearch.org and Archersoftware seem to be having problems with either zero results or pages and pages from other counties

Yes. I can see him listed, I just cannot see anything linking him specifically to Henry and Frances, nor for the marriage of Henry and Frances.

A chance an Ancestry hint may pay off!
At Titchmarsh on 13 Jun 1774 by Banns, marriage of Henry Lankford of Hockinbury,Huntingdonshire to Frances Groom OTP.
This would appear to be the missing marriage and would indicate Seagrave may have older siblings though several hours searching has drawn a blank.
