WRIGHT- Unwanted Marriage Certs.

This is my first ever posting to Rootsweb so I hope its OK.  I have the following unwanted marriage certificates.  My main line of research is the name WRIGHT and in particular I'd like to find the marriage of Alfred Wright born 1867, his father's name would be Alfred Wrecks WRIGHT.

Edward Albert WRIGHT to Ellen LANE – 6 Feb1898 Shoreditch (St Mary Haggestone) - not sure about date, might be February but can’t read it

James WRIGHT to Elizabeth FRANK – 25 Dec 1858 East London (St Botoloph’s Bishopsgate)

George WRIGHT to Elizabeth Ann DAYSMOND – 9 Jun 1839 Clerkenwell (St John)

Margaret WRIGHT to Richard HOSIER – 15 Jul 1849 Shoreditch (St Leonard)

Henry Richard WRIGHT to Georgina MEAKIN – 1 Jan 1907 South Mersham?, Surrey

Alfred WRIGHT to Charlotte Emma Elizabeth WRIGHT – 16 Oct 1898 Hackney

Thanks Milly.  Actually I have that certificate.  Alfred Wrecks Wright is the father of the Alfred born in 1867 - the enty you mention is Alfred senior's second marriage.  Thanks for trying to help, i should have been clearer.  Best wishes Alison

so let me get this rioght,  your Alfred (who you are trying to get the marriage cert for) was b. 1867 son of ALfred Wrecks Wright

do you have Alfred b. 1867 on the 1901 census?
has he got a wife by then? what was her name, age and p.o.b
where was Alfred b. 1867 born ?
have you got Alfred b. 1867 on the 1891 census and was he married then?


all this wil help narrow down the possibility of buying more un-necessary certificates.

Thanks for your reply.  I actually have lots more unwanted certificates - i've only posted the marriage ones so far!!

I've been researching for approx 10 years and don't order so many wrong ones these days.   Although with a name like Wright its often unavoidable.

Your assumption is correct too.  I'm looking for the marriage of Alfred jnr. who was born 1867 in London (Clerkenwell) and he's the son of Alfred Wrecks Wright b1843 in London. 

I have been unable to find Alfred jnr. on the 1891 and 1901 census - there are too many possibles and i don't know what his occupation was.  Alfred snr. was a stonemason.  I'm just hoping someone might recognise the unusual middle name of the father if they are researching this surname.  I realise its a long shot but you never know.  Thanks for your help - much appreciated.

looking for exact matches on 1901 census there is a Albert Wright aged 16 b. Clerkenwell living with father Albert J Wright and mother Jessie in Islington

and in 1891

Albert William Wright aged 6 born Clerkenwell
with father Alfred John and mother Lousia living in Grantham

These don't look right to me but I'll try and investigate further - thanks for your help.

Amongst your unwanted (or even wanted) certificates, do you have a George William Wright (or any other Wright for that matter) whose mother was Da Costa.  All I know about George is that he was born in Middlesex, sometime around 1857/58.

He was a fisherman and although in Hull in 1884, he could have stayed around Middlesex and perhaps married there prior to 1884.
