Thomas Garfield -does MIC match with photo?COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 03 April 08 00:18 BST (UK) »
I posted a group photo here on 31st March, as I think my great-uncle Thomas Garfield is on it. The group is of the 54th Brigade, RFA, but his MIC says he was T/WO Cl 1 with the RAMC, No.26524. He survived the War and was awarded the British Medal. In the Remarks panel on the card it says AS/RAMC/1500.
Is it possible he would be with the RFA, attached or similar? I haven't re-attached the photo, but will if needed.

Oh dear....again!  :'( :'(

If there is only RAMC on the MIC and unless there is another one, it will be a no again!

Bit of a spoilsport tonight ain't I??  ::) ;)
One more charge and then be dumb,
            When the forts of Folly fall,
        May the victors when they come
            Find my body near the wall.

Hello Giraffe,

If there is a Garfield on the picture, it can only be one of these, unless he left the brigade between somewhen in May and 9th July 1915; and some of them can be discounted probably:

Is there another brother/cousin etc you haven't told us about yet?  :D

Hi Phil, Sorry, I've been trying to alter the NArchives  PDF to a jpeg, got the hang of it now. Thomas H  and Robert L Garfield were brothers, and another brother was John H Garfield, KIA. I have John's MIC and his Sccroll of honour, and now have a photo of his Memorial in Penn Church, Wolverhampton, plus I know he was buried at Messines Cemetery. Thomas and Robert survived the War. I have posted Thomas' MIC image now, and am about to post Robert's. Thank you for your interest,

Phil,
I caused a lot of confusion  :-[ as I didn't make it clear that my ID photo was not the group to which I was referring. The correct one is on one of my  ' 1.' and '2.' Thomas and Robert Garfield' threads. I thought it best to start two new threads. Thank you for your interest, I am just about to post an image of Robert's MIC (I've only just found out how to save it as a Jpeg instead of PDF.

Hi Doug, Love your site! I think it was on there that I found the memorial to John Henry Garfield in Penn Church (I think it's St Bartholomews). I used to live and work in Wolverhampton, so know several of your locations mentioned.
As for the info and photos, I think I should  speak to my cousin first, who is also researching our family. I am sure he will agree, as will I, but I need to check with him. He may have more info than me. I'll let you know asap.
