Wrexham baptims look up
« on: Friday 04 April 08 17:26 BST (UK) »
Is there any sign of Frances Cotton, d/o John and Jane Cotton. Could possibly have another first or middle name.
In 1848 she marries Robert Williams , so might   ??? possibly be in the later dates.
I can`t find them  in 1851 or any later census , but in 1861 /71 her son Matthew  b 1852 is living with Cotton grandparents in Adwy , so she could have died.
I have found some deaths for Frances Williams, but it would help to eliminate some if I know when she was born.
Thanks. :)

MMMMMMMmm,   :) I think this could be possible, the age of Louisa could be about right for the marriage in 1848, and  Francies`s mother was Jane.
I`ts also said that they lived at Brymbo at one time.
Brymbo is very close to where their son Matthew was living in 1861, Coedpoeth.
The only thing that doen`t fit is that Fanny was born Malpas,  and would have only been about 18 when she married ,but her father was a groom, so he could have worked anywhere,
I hope to check the original PRs for WXM soon , so hopefully this will give both parents names and occupations.
Thank you for this.
I`ll post the results.

Hopefully if I find the marriage it will give their ages,
Roberts occupation is a match,  his son was a similar trade.
I found Mathew Williams b Minera aged 49 in 1901 in London. He is an engineer.
He is a widower, but I can`t find him in 1891 /81/71

It`s really Robert Williams the father of Mathew I`m looking for, but with a name like that  ::) ::) ::)

 Thanks for your help :)

This seems to be the one, wilcoxon.

Also, I noticed a few Fanny/Frances deaths on the North Wales BMD 1851-1861. It might be worth exploring further on these.

Thanks Paul and every one else.
Thats great . I did find a possible baptism  for Robert , and the marriage confirms it is the right one. I wouldn`t have thought of Gresford though. ???

I think I`m OK with this lot now, and thay can be left alone for a while :)
