looking for birth reg manchester for Alice or Harry

Found
Birth reg
Jun qtr 1877
manchester
HARRIS Rosenthall
8d 273

it is quite possible (especially with accents) that the enumerator heard "Alice" instead of "Harris" and assumed he was a girl!!!!

What backs up this theory is

Death reg
Mar qtr 1899
Hull
age 22
HARRIS rosenthall
9d 154

daughter Sophia - p.o.b. in 1901/1891 given as Hull, 1881 given as Manchester
I can only find a birth reg at correct time for Sophia b. hull

now the Annie puzzle

I wondered if Annie died and Louis remarried to Ada -but I can't seem to find another marriage

it also seems strange that Annie and Ada are of similar age and p.o.b.

Im going t look for an Annie jarvis b Poland

back soon

Done a little digging -if we accept for some reason Louis age is 10 yrs out in 1881
then there is a possibility for him in 1871 -in Kingston upon Hull
age 15 occ Glazier with parents Selig and Therisa -they have 7 children all except the last being born in Poland.
RG10 4792 126 24

There is also in 1871 in manchester jacob Rosenthall (occupation Joiner -which could also be associated with cabnet making)  wife betsey and 4 children -one of them is called Harris - all b. Poland -maybe they are related RG10 4044 43 77

Cannot find any jarvis b. Poland

on the marriage reg I found the other 2 names on the page were Thomas Etherington and leah Lendofski - leah sounds more Polish -wonder if she was really Annie or Ada????

Think one of the childrens birth certs is necessary for parents names

Then maybe the marriage cert

Then we can possibly narrow down the time when they came to England

Then a post on the immigrants section would be a good idea.

But really should wait to gather as much info of their time in England before you take that path

Hope this helps - hopefully we can find ot more when you have a certificate
