UPDATED: Dating of lovely lady and Question...

OK, before you other male Rootschatters say anything about dating lovely ladies...

This MIGHT be my great grandmother who was married to the gentleman who is my avatar, but I don't know.

I would like a close as possible date for it (I estimate mid to late 1890s - if so she would be 21 to 26 yrs old).

Here is the problem (and question):  my great grandfather also had several sisters close to  his wife's age.  I have a couple of other pictures I would like you experts to compare this one with.   What is the best way to do that?

Hi Nick, I'd say circa 1895. The sleeves seem to be of the larger variety 

If you want us to compare photos , either you could put them up as a combined image in a row if you can do that with your software. Try to make sure they are roughly the same size and eyes are level.

Alternatively, you could put up the ones that you want comparing individually and one of us will combine them for you

Hi Nick,
I would agree with Gadget, and say 1895-1899.
I'd love to see the other photos and hope you will be able to post them on the thread.
My feeling is she is over 25, but I could be wrong!

There's a photo on one of our dating resources with the same sleeve, dated at 1895. Pity we can't see more of the sleeve, but judging from just the shoulder area I'm on the same page as Gadget and Paulene.

Thanks for your responses.  It is going to take me awhile to do the next step since some of the photos have to be scanned back from negatives (long story).

I don't have very sophisticated software for manipulating photos (just viewers), so will likely just post several photos.

Photo in "circle" has Kate (left) and Anna.  I believe photo below is also Anna.  Separate photo is definitely Anna.  Will attach 2 more next message.

Here is last photo - if the initial phot is my great gma, this would be her eldest daughter, Ruth.  By the way, we can refer to initial photo as "MaybeMargaret".

I have compared it  a lot to Anna, but feel there are enough differences that I don't think it is her.

I'd say the first lady (in sepia) is over 26 ... possibly early 30's.  The second one posted is around 30 - 35 in age ?
