Thank you for you suggestion.  I will keep it in my notes, although I am fairly certain now that it is Dunkineely, Donegal.  See the continuation posts in the Donegal section - http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,319358.0.html.
Other members seem to have come up with some evidence of Dunkineely - what appears to be Eliza's brother (same parents).

I don't know if you proved the Dunkineely connection or got any further but I live in Dunkineely and would be happy to help out with any searches locally if you need it. There were 36 Givens living in the area in the 1911 census and there are certainly still Deanes in the area.
