Could anyone find a birth of Violet Gallagher, probably Derry - her parents were Hugh Gallagher and Susan (McCabe) Gallagher.  Hugh and Susan were married 1901.

Had a quick look on Irish Genealogy website (changed since the last time I was on it) and found Violet Gallagher born 1895 Co.Derry and a Violet May Gallaher born 1910 (Fermanagh or Tyrone?).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you,  aghadowey,  the 1910 sounds the better of the two.  I wonder if her brothers Jim (James) and Joe (Joseph) were born in the same place.

Irish Genealogy index only gives name and year. Suspect there will be too many named James and Joseph to know whwether or not it's them.
If your Violet was born in 1910 she should be listed in 1911 census but you'd have to know where the family was living then to start searching through the census.

Irish records seem far more problematical than England/Wales and even Scotland.  Not knowing exactly where the Gallaghers lived, I suppose, brings a stop to what I can find out.

If I wanted to buy a marriage cert. re. Hugh and Susan's marriage, do you know where I should apply and how much it is likely to cost?
