One interesting account from the Australian point of view, they were involved at Gallipoli as well, is an early Mel Gibson film Gallipolli.  It shows some of the horrors that befell the troops that were trying to attack the Turks.

It's an interesting battle, just another sad blunder from WWI.
Researching the whole war makes a good read.
I am researching the following families:
Hurst / Payne - Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Worcestershire
Toon(e) - Leicestershire
Batchelor / Foster - Warwickshire / Northamptonshire
Hardy - Dorset

My web site has the family tree showing.  I am researching primarily the Payne, Hurst, Foster and Batchelor lines in the Midlands.
