Thank you, forester but there is another thing that I don't understand which is this.
How can a member of a Battalion be part of the Inns of Court.
Surely that is to do with the legal system like the High Courts?
Great sites again.

They were originally incorporated as par of the Territorial Force, and were titled the Inns of Court VRC (27th London)

The Inns of Court OTC (as was originally) were so styled in 1909 after only a year as the 27th London Regt.  The badge  was made up of the four shields of arms of the following Inns, at the top Lincoln's Inn, on the left Middle Temple, bottom grays inn and on the left Middle Temple. The surrounding laurel wreath carried the battle honour South Africa.

In 1932 the OTC (Officer Training Corps)part of the title was lost and they became the Inns of Court Regiment...
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Thank you for looking for this information for me.
There is so much to learn and I can see that now.

Why did they incorporate the regiments?
Because of losses in the First World War?  :(
I am researching the Franklin, Samuel's, Jessel's. Waleys and Sassoon's among other many branches of my family.
I am also related to the bio-scientist Rosalind Franklin, who discovered the Single DNA Helix structure in 1953. But one of my main regrets in my life is that I never met this talented lady, who died at the young age of 37 in 1958 !!
The avatar's of my paternal grandmother, K. Jessel.
It is fun doing this amount of research.

The Inns of Court  just changed its name originally....

Amalgamations have nothing to with losses....It is all to do with political expediency, I'm afraid...As was then...More so now...

1881, 1930s, 1960, 1992, 2006/7 The loss of the Army Bands, the loss of historic Regts...

Ooh...I could go on for ages....

That is so interesting and I wouldn't mind if you did go on for ages
as it's fascinating.
But wow even more  interesting information than I imagined that I'd find out in one day.  :)
