Is this the one born in Church Broughton?

Enlisted 1902 at Lichfield, Royal Artillery?

Married Mary Ellen Wedd??

Blimey..this chap is elusive on the pension records!

Are you sure he was pensioned out?

Did he have any other names?

Don't want to be too negative but I have been loking for my late grandfather's records - both pension and medal - from First World War for a while now. I know he had a pension, had medals (my uncle still has them in his possession) and didn't re-enlist in the army but I still cannot find any mention of him in Ancestry's lists. If, as I think, it is a matter of transcription error of original records I might never find relevant details. I know quite a few people have had trouble geting info. from Ancestry's listings.

Thank you so much Scrimnet for trying, elusive or just does not want to be found I can't make up my mind which,   I know he had a pension my Grandmother told us it was the pension that kept the wolf from the door during the lean times, yes he had another name "Frederick" but it is not the one from Nailsea Bristol allready on pension records,

Hi Mallow,

Do you have any more details on him e.g. 1901 census, birth or marriage cert?

Freebmd shows  a Charles Edward Allsopp birth registered in Cannock in Staffordshire and TNA has 2 MICs for Charles E Allsoppp.

There is the one already found from Church Broughton and another who was a private 35638 in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry later to be private 55810 in the Somerset Light Infantry.

Can't find him on Ancestry either.  >:(

I think it's a case of working though all the images.
