Please tell me I'm not seeing things

Both the IGI and familyhistory online have the marriage of Thomas Newton to Sarah NELSON  on 2nd Feb 1834. I've finally had a look at the image and I'm sure it says Sarah WILSON

What do you think

Sarah has signed her name beautifully - Wilson.

So has the witness!    Except I don't think anyone has signed as these appear to be  copies.  Bishop's Transcripts?    Maybe you ought to try to see the original - if it exists.

Definitely a beautiful Wilson and as Andrea said the witness was an Ann Wilson.

The second witness' name is most interesting - looks like Peter Wardzopper.

  That's what I thought...should I notify someone...it seems a bit strange that even familyhistoryonline got it wrong. I thought their records were from the local society.

OK next qustion how do I view the actual Parish record from here in NZ?

As I added to my post if these are BTs then the original may say Nelson.  I had one marriage where the bride was from Chester le Street on the original but it was copied as Houghton le Spring on the BT.   Took me ages before I thought to look at the original.  You should be ale to get the original film at your nearest LDS centre - listed on www.familysearch.org

I agree the entry is written by the same hand so could be a mistranscription along the way.

The originals must exist I think if Northumberland FHS have supplied them
