wondering where to ask about William Jury as im not sure where he comes from . I think his family was from plymouth. he came to new zealand in the 1800"s married roseamond Buckley

b 1887abt d 8th May 1944 aged 57 years.

The England (general) is often a good place to post if you know your family came from England, but you are not sure where. One of the mods may move it  :) (*)

Did he go to NZ with his parents? Do you Have their names or any other family names? There are a few possibilities on the 1891 Census, if he was in England at that time
One born Kent, two in Devon and one in Cornwall. This one is closest re Plymouth - no birthplace is given

According to the Oxford Companion of Names, the name Jury  is of English origin  a habitation name from the Medieval English
ju(ie)rie.  most ofton denoting a non-Jew living in the Jewish quarter of a town.
