 Yes, that is the marriage!  I have that marriage certificate and his marriage to Jane MAUGHAM.  The ladies had been married before in both marriages.  Edward ARMSTRONG signs them both with wonderful clear mature hand wriiting.

I have never found my grandfather's first marriage, it might be a mistake on his marriage to Jane CRANSON or CRANSTON, which states they are both widowed. 

I have just found Stephen ARMSTRONG on my 1881 Census Disk at Wath on Dearne with Chemist Alan HICK and his wife as a Chemists Assistant!  I don't know whether any of my Aunts or Uncles would have known about him.

 - don't forget that there are lots of people on here who can check all the census for you and will spend ages tracking people down!

I see that the first Jane died before the 1881 census - do you have her age and do you know her birthplace?
