Hi,

I found this marriage,

George INGFIELD    Jun Q 1841    East Grinstead    v.7  p.435
Elizabeth NEIGHBOUR with same details.

There is this marriage and birth on the IGI,

Elizabeth NEIGHBOURS
Spouse:  George INGEFIELD
Marriage:  26 JUN 1841   East Grinstead, Sussex

Elizabeth INGLEFIELD NEIGHBOUR
Christening:  31 Jan 1841   East Grinstead, Sussex
Mother:  Elizabeth NEIGHBOUR

This looks like Elizabeth jnr's birth reg, indexed and looks like NEIGHBORN.

Elizabeth NEIGHBORN    Dec Q 1840    E. Grinstead    v.7  p.295

So if they weren't married before the 1841 census in 1841, June 6th, I think this is Elizabeth in 1841,

1841  HO7/1077/7  f.9  p.9  Lingfield, Surrey
Malthouse

Esther WILLIAMSON    20              N
Elizth NEIGHBOUR       19    F.S.     Y
Eliz NEIGHBOUR           6months    Y

Although in Surrey, Lingfield was in East Grinstead RD,

Baptism at St Swithuns, East Grinstead
Register Entry No. 300
11th February 1816
George, son of Michael and Sarah Inglefield
Abode Ashurst Wood
Father's Occupation Labourer.

Also on the IGI: Batch No. C070561, transcribed as Ingarfield

If you don't know the area, Ashurst Wood is mid-way between East Grinstead and Forest Row.
Forest Row was part of EG parish, becoming a chapelry in 1850, but not a parish in it's own right until 1894.
It falls within the East Grinstead Registration District throughout the censuses.

This may be a related family.

Settlement examinations Sevenoaks Petty Sessions 1812-1850
29.2.1812 Ingerfield William sawyer Resident Edenbridge Born Lingfield Surrey
Spouse Mary Children Susan 3 Mercy 2
Parish of legal settlement Knockholt, Kent
Employed by Mr Luck of Horne then by his father as an itinerant sawyer.

I also have Ingerfields in my husband's tree, resident in Cowden, Kent not a million miles from East Grinstead.

I don't know if that william is one of mine, that will take a bit more digging.
Are your Ingerfields any relation of ours?
Thank you for your help.

I have a James Ingerfield christened 1796 died in Petworth in sussex
he was illegitimate his mother was Anne
I have his children in Petworth but all seem to be girls. Maybe worth looking around the area for christenings incase the mother travelled
