Hi there,

;D Not sure that would work out! Have you found your James on any of the censuses? It should tell you his approx. age and birthplace. He married Margaret Reid on the date you mention and had a son, James McKinnon Muir, on the 21st April 1849 in Ayr.

Hello Katrina
I have just noticed your mail posted some time ago and it would appear we have a connection with the Muirs from Maybole.
My gtx1 grandparents were John Muir and Annie Wilson who matrried in Maybole5 december 1845.
John's parents were James Muir and Elizabeth MacAdam  and Ann's parents were James Wilson and Ruth Kerr m. 1813in Ayr James was born 1789 in Maybole and died 1859 in Prestwick  They had 10 children I know of James Muir, a shepherd who left Ayrshire to work in Kels, Kircudbright, and Elizabeth had 4 children I know of .
Can you see a connection ?
