Just had a thought ... perhaps these children may read the Herald Sun article and all your searching may be in vain. But at least it will be a happy outcome.  :)

I agree so will wait and see.

It is making it hard not being able to put all the names we have found onto here.....

but here's a summary for now....

We have found Alfred Charles Forsters' birth in 1898 in CARLTON NORTH with parents Alfred John FORSTER (died 1938) & Mary Jane PORTER who married in Balmain in 1877.

His maternal grandfather was Charles Porter.
Maternal grandmother Sarah UNKNOWN.

Paternal grandfather John Joseph/John Alfred Forster
Paternal grandmother Joyce Gamble

His siblings are
Alice May  born 1888 Balmain NSW married William John Clark in 1912 in Vic
Son Colin Forster Clark born 1914 died 1981 Melb Vic
Married in  1940 as Colin Foster Clark.

Ada Joyce  born 1890 Carlton North Vic married John Leigh/Lee 1918 Vic

John Gambling born 1904 in Maffra Vic died 1978 in Geelong Vic

As Cando says, certifcates may help considerably but we best wait......

That d/c certainly looks like it may be the key (or one of them) to finding living rellies.

Is there any was to find out the d/c information without purchasing it? Here in Qld if you're lucky enough to find a person's will then the d/c is often an included bonus.  ;) This death is so recent though ....  :-\

What would be the next step? Just wait?

I PM'ed biglou, as suggested by Springbok, to see if he has any connection to the Notts Parrs in this story. I hope he joins us.  ;D

Dee, can you please PM me any living rellies you may have found? Thanks.

PS. Great summary thanks - makes it very easy to understand.

I have checked out NSW marriages for a marriage of John Joseph Forster and Joyce Gamble, and any children born to them, but found nothing.
