SPLATT - 1841/1851/1861 Lambeth/Camberwell
« on: Monday 17 January 05 01:21 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me with members of the SPLATT family living in the Lambeth and Camberwell areas in 1841, 1851 and 1861?

The information I have is:-

Francis Splatt (probably born in Devon?)
Mary Ann Splatt

who were the parents of

John Splatt born Bridge Street, Lambeth 1838
Mary Ann Splatt born Lambeth circa 1845

The two children lived in Camberwell in 1871 (more specifically 4 Culmore Rd in 1881)

Many Thanks for anything you can dig out for me,

Ray

Hi Clickaway

None of your SPLATT'S coming up on the 1861 partial index I'm afraid.
Only a few are indexed so far.Do you want those that are?
Surely there must be a connection  ;D

This looks like them in 1851.  Then enumerator has transcribed them as SPLATES.

Thanks Rick,

That also tells me where Frances Laskey was in 1851, she being my Gt Gt Grandmother.

Could her birthplace and that of Francis (head of household) be Kenton rather than Newton?

It could well be Kenton for both of them.  Frances's entry is less clear, but I would say that both entries relate to the same place.
