jessie walker born 28th dec. 1847 ch. 8th feb. 1848 elgin moray parents james walker & ann smith
on 1881 census twins are with grandparents james & ann walker in elgin
no sign of mother  :(

Are you saying that a Jessie Hutchinson married a Charles Whittle? Sounds like the right entry then. Also supported by Annie Walker niece staying with them in 1901. Although I don't think George and Jessie were married, Jessie from what Liz has said, passed herself off as Hutchinson. If you have found a marriage entry for them, maybe that was the name she was then using rather than Walker?

if so she is named on the 1881 census
with the grandparents as well as the twins
Alexander is a grandson too
