What Can I Do?
« on: Wednesday 30 April 08 13:22 BST (UK) »
My g grandmother was born 6th march 1876 and she said she was born in Bridgwater Somerset.  We always thought that she was born Annie Kate Binding but it would seem not.  Ive contacted the necessary register office and explained the situation and that im looking for a birth on that specific day and place, but they couldnt help insisting that they needed a name.  If I knew the name I wouldnt need help!! I suppose there could be a baptism some time after but has anyone got any idea if there is a way to search births on a specific day and place.thanks

Searching online GRO records - using FreeBMD, you could leave out forename and see if a 'Female' Binding was registered in the MAR quarter of 1876 in the Bridgwatewr District ?

Or leave out all names and see if anything catches your attention ?

How certain are you that 1876 is the correct year ?

Have you got her on the 1881 census ?

I see on the 1901 she says Bridgwater is her PoB (Annie Simmons, married to Alfred

You might have to get that Marriage Cert ...... see who she declares to be her Father  .....
