1871 census lookup please
« on: Friday 02 May 08 13:27 BST (UK) »
Please could somebody have a look for:

David Pollock b.1837 "Bogside" Glasgow

and also his father and stepmother:

John Pollock b.1816 Glasgow
Agnes Pollock b.1814 Glasgow

John and Agnes would probably be found at 5 Wallace Street, Glasgow? (they are there in 1872 and 1874). And David would probably be in the same area, which I think is Govan? I really want to know if David is married, so I can look for his marriage cert!

Many thanks in advance,
millerina  :)

Thanks for the lookup!

That looks very promising - I know some of his family were living in an adjoining street to Bridge Street around that time!

Many thanks again,
millerina  :) :)

You're on the right trail!  David's marriage is easily found indexed like so:

1862 POLLOCK DAVID CAMPBELL ELIZABETH TRADESTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/09 0001

Not quite so easy to find the father and step mother in 1871....hmmmm...still looking on that one ???

Best wishes
Jean

Hi Jean and Tom,

Many thanks for all that info! I'll have to get that marriage certificate - but it is already looking very promising because David's Mother was called Isabella Hill, and this David and Elizabeth have a daughter called Isabella Hill Pollock!

Many thanks again for your help!
