Hi Anne-Marie

I have an index to NSW births to 1918 on CD, but there are NO births given for DORBON on the cd so it would seem Joseph & Martha didn't have any children to at least 1918 - unless they did return to UK and come back later. I couldn't see the name at all in the Aust War records either.

NSW death certificates/trancripts for the 20th century contain much more information than English ones. The transcript of the 1956/7 death would cost $15 - about 7 pounds at the minute - and depending on the knowledge of the informant should give
his age & birthplace
length of time lived in each Aust state
parents (incl maiden name of mother)
marriage details
names and ages of living children
number of deceased children
burial details
and the usual  cause of death and informant

Marriage certificates contain age, birth place and parents of both of the couple. Also occupation & fathers' occupations.

Hi Jean

Certainly wasn't as Impossible as I thought - thanks to you ;D

Hi Trish

Thanks for checking the births - I can't see any possible births in England so perhaps they did have their children after 1918.

Ordering the death cert seems like a very good idea - I had no idea they included so much information.

Thanks to you both for your help
