Bideford & District Archive
« on: Sunday 11 May 08 04:48 BST (UK) »
 ??? ???

Some time ago I made notes from a card index compiled by or held at the Bideford & District Archive.
Does anyone know what became of 'it/them'? :-[
There were detailed research notes of entries in newspapers (Bideford Gazette)
I later typed up info. (before computer!!).

Maybe I dreamt it :'(

It could be the North Devon Record Office in Barnstaple - they hold most of the archive material for the area. Its worth giving them a call to see if they hold the origins of the details you're looking for

As far as I know the Bideford Archives are still where they've always
been - above the registrars office in Windmill lane, Northam.
and still compiling a card index of the Bideford Gazette. ;)

Brilliant Resources - and thanks to the efforts of whoever worked/s on compiling the card index.  I was able to trace info. from some very old notes by contacting North Devon Record Office with references.
