Has anyone got a copy of this CD?

I have found a note in a Ged that reads:

Dorset: - Wills and Administrations Burialls
Additional Wills Proved and Administrations Granted in the Royal Peculiar of Corfe Castle, Dorset, Formerly Preserved at Corfe Castle and Now Deposited at the Probate Registry, Blandford.
   Bundle 5.
County: Dorset
Country: England
498 Stockley, SimonCorfe A. 1734

I would dearly like to see the will.

Thanks in advance.

Aren't they fascinating Frank?  :o

Do you notice what is clearly a late addendum, and probably the point of the argument between John and Mary.

"the goods is marys
for ever after her
mothers deces"

I descend from the "very troublesome son" John. Where is your line?

Oh by the way, that last post was made in 2008, I have made a little progress since then as you have probably guessed by now. I also have the "Dorset Wills and Administrations" CD.

And welcome to Rootschat. :)

Hi Paul, I did notice the date of your post sorry that it is a late reply for you? I have on started searching for ancestry in the last couple of months
as my sister started 15 years ago and stop it 11 years ago, So im picking up where she left off.

It was a very interesting find i think and along with the inventory of goods!! These documents blew me away when i read them
and as you say they are fascinating Paul.

My line comes in with my grandmothers mother Mary Jane nee` Presslee marries George the son of John Bradford Stockley and Amelia Rebecca
My Grandmother was Lily and her sister Amelia Grace.

I did know if you would reply or not but im glad you did.

Frank.

Hi Frank,

No apologies needed and I'm sorry I led you to believe you had made a mistake. ALWAYS post! It is great to hear a reply.  ;D

Is that George Stockley b1873 of John Robert Bradford Stockley and Amelia Rebecca nee Furnage? I had no descendants for George! I'd love to know more.

Once you have posted once more you will be able to send me a personal message. Could you do that for me? I would love to hear from you.

We may be fairly closely related. J.R.B Stockley's father James is my 2nd gt grandfather. I am descended from his daughter Susannah and I have made contact with someone descended from her brother Henry. To make contact with a descendant of John would be a thrill. Have you any photos?

Hi Paul.

That`s right George Stockley b1783. The family always wondered on the Presslee/Stockley link and i found it
on the 1911 census of Corfe Castle. George married Mary Jane who was either widowed or divorced (still to find out)
From a John Presslee. Even though my grandmother was a Presslee the link is with Amelia Grace her sister.

My grandmother marrried Arnold Hooper b1897 who was also born over at Corfe Castle they lived in Hamworthy Poole.
The Stockley side are still going strong in Poole and surrounding areas.
We actually met with our Stockley cousins at a funeral about 2 weeks ago.

Funnily enough Paul i have started to scan and place photos of my family (Moore) and Stockleys and Hoopers on FB!!
I have a small portions of the photo albums from my sister and i am waiting for the others and from our Stockley cousins..
I am in the process of building an Ancestry website for all the familys!!

Frank

Hi Frank,

The thrill here is that James and Mary had three children. Untill today I had only traced descendants of two of them, Henry and Susannah, now I make contact with their third child.

As soon as you can e-mail me I will send you a photo of John's sister Susannah and his brother Henry. I do hope you have a photo of John.
