Great Grandfathers Stables
« on: Sunday 11 May 08 21:02 BST (UK) »
I am wondering if anyone can help me to confirm or otherwise some information about my Great Grandfather. His name was Frank Trowsdale born 1878. The family was connected to horses / stud / groom in some way, and there is a story that he had a stables, which was named after him, and i would love to know where or if it still exists.
He was born in Aske, Richmond, Yorkshire, although they moved as my Grandmother was born in Bedfordshire, (Milton Ernest) but Aunts & Uncles in Cricklade Wiltshire.
If anyone has any info, ideas i would be extremely grateful.
Thanks  :D

Hi MeWMeW,

Not a great deal of help and you may have seen it ..  but according to the 1891 census Frank's father John was a Stud Groom in Aske ..  :-\

Kind regards,

Pels

Thanks for that Pels. I had picked up that his father was a groom, but as to whether there really was a stables named after Frank, i am still unsure where to look.

Hi MeWMeW

Maybe not a lot of help, but if these stables are in the Richmond area, which was and still is a horse racing area, then you might get a better response on the North Yorkshire board.

happy hunting
