Missing Page in 1841 census
« on: Tuesday 18 January 05 21:46 GMT (UK) »
I have just bought the 1841 Herefordshire census and the first two pages for the Parish of Wormesley at HO107_422/26 are missing.

Page 3 starts with Ann Dale aged 8 and that is the family I'm interested in!

Could someone check their copy to see if it contains pages 1 and 2 please?

Many thanks

Mikey

Thanks for the info.

I've contacted the company and they were quick to respond. They have passed it to the scanning department and will let me know within a week.

Mikey,

HO107 / 422 / folio 4 / page 2

No address, but three buildings back is Wormsley Court.

William Dale / 30 / Mason / Y
Elizabeth do / 30 / / Y

The ages should be read as 30-34 as usual. This enumerator seems to have remembered to round the ages, unfortunately.

You would have children Ann 8, George 7, Francis 3, Charlotte 1, all on the next page? Also Ann Beavan and John (her son? brother?) are in the same building (with John probably apprenticed to William).

Cheers
Steve

Steve,

Haven't heard anymore so many thanks for the reply. The ages match the ones in the 1851 census (41 and 40) but unfortunately I was hoping for a William aged about 9.  It does eliminate this family so it is back to the systematic search of the areas around Hereford!
