Baptism Look-ups please for Tyberton or Much Birch - WIL(L)COX
« on: Sunday 18 May 08 04:09 BST (UK) »
I am looking for the children of Thomas Willcox, blacksmith, (not sure where he was born) and Mary (Watkins) who were supposedly born in Tyberton
Thomas and Mary were married in Madley in 1796
They definitely had a Thomas abt 1801

Could their first few children possibly have been christened in Much Birch which is not too far away? - there is a William 1799 and a Thomas 1805 shown on the IGI - could someone see if there is a Francis as well as I have one born abt 1800 tracked in census born Much Birch or Much Dewchurch and he is also a blacksmith

I have found Ann Wilcox chr 27 Jul 1806 (IGI) and Eliza chr 20 Mar 1811 (IGI) in Tyberton to Thomas and Mary but no others there

Would it be possible to check the parish registers for these 2 places and see who is listed?

As usual any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
SC

Hi Carole

Thanks very much for the info - I guess I missed seeing Esther's one in Tyberton
Ellinor is obviously linked to William and Thomas so we may still have two separate families here
except that Thomas and Mary were married in 1796 and the first child in Tyberton seems to be Ann in 1806

There must be a Francis Wilcox born c1800 as I have him and a lot of his children tracked in the various censuses but he has used both Much Birch and Much Dewchurch as birth places which doesn't help at all
The only Francis listed on the IGI in 40 years from 1790 to 1830 is his son Francis in 1828

We'll see if anyone else can find anything further to add to this
Thanks
SC
