death certificate
« on: Monday 19 May 08 15:55 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a Canadian death certificate?

My great grandfather William Jones born 1855 Liverpool, emigrated to Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario and died there in 1945 (don't know what date)

Some kind person on Roots found out for me that he was buried in Woodland Cemetary Waterloo but no other details.

Is it possible to order certificates as we do here?

Many thanks
Cecile

Hello Cecile,

If you are looking to get your grandfather's  certs you can get them from the Province of Ontario (in thier Thunder Bay office I believe). The certificates are issued by each province and not federally. Here are a couple sites you can check out:

https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/start.do

http://www.archives.gov.on.ca/english/interloan/vsmain.htm

http://my.tbaytel.net/bmartin/lds-b.htm

Hope this helps you out,

His name has not yet been transcribed on the "Find a Grave" or "Ontario Cemetery Project", but I will post the links in case it helps you with other names.
