One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

cant find any on Soldiers Died In Great War with born Dover. :(

Ady

Hello Ady,
Thanks for your reply,

Cant find OUR JOHN SPRIGGS, only know legend has it that he died in WW1, maybe he didn't???

Know 1901 Census he is living with parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, in Hougham, Dover.
Know its our JOHN only because his mother is FENETTA, all the females have that name going back generations.

Thanks again,
Fenetta

Hi Fenetta

This may be useful...He has copied, or has access to all the WW1 pics from the Shire...

A bit expensive for what it is, but saves a trip to Wooton Hall!

I have also done some of these and all the WW2 entries Roll of Honour.

Mine are free.

Hi again Fenetta

I have also indexed the National Roll of the Great War for Beds and Northants and have images also.

May come in help sometime if any turn out to be from the areas noted.

Yeah Right.  :P :P :P :P

I spoke to you recently and told you I had done them.

You must have done what Hubby does and not listened.  ;D

Just had to pick myself up from RBFLOL.

Someone told me they think you quite a character Scrimnet.  ;D ;D ;D

Now where is that photograph we had taken together.   :P  :P  :P

Well I stood about 10 feet away from you with the lower ranks.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I know my place.  ;D

When talking to Annie and Co about your "Mum" don't forget i.e.

I am short, grey-haired, fat and frumpy and old and I am not joking.  ;D ;D ;D

I thank god my real family of hubby and 2 sons and 2 grand-children (family
tree here) love me faults and all of which I have aplenty.  ;D

Nice to have your help with others here on my war queries truly though.

I guess now you have dis-owned me.  :'( I can hack it. ;D

Sandy

Now then adopted mother....

Points to note...

1. You have not been abandoned/disowned or anything of the sort..
2. I have slept since then...
3. Been rather busy with SWMBO being blue lighted into hospital i/c emergency operation
4. She is now at home with me having carers leave, and having me at her beck and call
5. My actual mum was just how you describe yourself...
6. So there :P :P :P :P :P
