Thomas Ford
22/12/1830 at Barthomley St Bertholine and an Ann Basford by License . He
is from Astbury parish.

The marriage you're interested in was actually solemnized on the 22 Dec 1829.  Here are the details taken from the Barthomley Parish Register:

THOMAS FORD of the parish of Astbury bachelor and farmer, and ANN BASFORD of this parish [Barthomley] spinster married by licence.

Witnesses: Thos Basford, Rebecca Ford, James Edwards, John Lunt and Sarah Clark

Thomas Ford and Ann Basford are my g-g-g-grandparents.
Thomas is the son of Ralph Ford and Hannah Bayley and Ann is the daughter of Ralph Basford and Ann Horton.
Thomas and Ann had 13 children and daughter Eliza married John Thornhill and are my g-g-grandparents.
Thomas and Ann farmed Walnut Tree Farm at Barthomley.
I also had their marriage as 1830 which is on IGI but the Barthomley transcripts have it as 1829 which I take it is correct.

Hmmm, not so sure this is my Thomas anymore as I think he only had 10 children (only - ha!)
Do you know when your Thomas was born, by any chance?

Hi Barbara,
On a second look I think my Thomas and Ann may have had only 10 children not 13 - I need to check again.
Thomas was born in Eaton near Congleton, as was his father and his grandfather.
Ann died aged 43 and Thomas then married her sister Elizabeth. Thomas died in 1883 aged 84.

I am also connected to this line but through the Birchall family and the marriage of Thomas Thornhill and Jane Birchall in 1835.

Oh darn, my Thomas Ford definitely died in 1892 :-(
Still, our Ford's still might be connected! Should know more once I get back the Certificates I ordered!

Hi Barbara,
Sorry it is not the right Thomas. Thomas and Ann did have a son Thomas - he died in 1895 aged 58 but he did not marry.

I know of two other Thomas Fords baptised Astbury:
Bapt 27/01/1839 - Thomas son of John & Ann Ford of Somerford.
Bapt 24/3/1839 (born 19 Jan 1839) Thomas son of John & Theodoria Ford of Odd Rode.
