I think the items "best" and "shopping centre" are a contradiction in terms, but perhaps there is a "best" of something that should not exist!!

I'm just a grouch - but I liked the smaller local centres that used to exist.

I stopped going to Indooropilly when they downsized the medicare office to the extent that the corridoor was so crowded with the queue I thought there were free giveaways & waited with the rest.

I got lost one too many times at the Myer Centre and gave it away. I cried when they closed the old David Jones city store and have been to their new store  just the once.

Most other places you have to arrive by 9am to get a parking space - and I don't get up much before that time  ::)  I rather liked the US shopping hours (years ago) Nothing opened before 10am  :D

I think you will find the railway museum much more interesting than shopping centres, Jenn, but if not there is a new set of shops in Ipswich called "Riverlink" very close to the old railway workshops  8)

Shopping is not my forte,  get a bit claustrophobic at Christmas with crowds, so  not a  big must do  but  have some shopping to be done.  Apprently  there is a  Picaso exhibition  on  done  there at  that time  too

Yes Jenn.  There is a showing of Picasso's personal art collection here at the GOMA  ( Gallery of Modern Art ).  Which is right next door to the State Library which has lots of family history stuff........ ;D ;D ;D

Trish

Better start a petrol fund, if we are going to drive to Darwin to look for your mysterious ancestor!!  ;D ;D

I can relate to getting lost in the Myer Centre - I did that a number of times when I first went into it.  Rarely go into any Brissie shopping centres now, for obvious reasons.  I agree that shopping centres are not nice places.
