BSE county prison 1851

Hi, l wonder if someone can help?.

According to the 1851 census [ HO107/1792 folio 64 page 57 ] William Salisbury aged 18 and from Whepstead is a prisoner at BSE county prison, would anyone know where l could locate the court/prison records for this event?, l`ve tried a2a but nil result . If anyone can give me some advice it would be gratefully received.

Probably your best bet would be to contact the Suffolk Record Office.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for info, l had contacted BSE record office but because l don`t know the record(s) that need searching they said it would come under there research services which start at £22.00 an hour. I thought perhaps there was an online site.

Unfortunately, I do not think there is.  You could try an "if anyone is going to the SRO.....could they" message.  If you get no joy here, you could also try posting it on the Suffolk Mailing List.
