Wondering if there are any Leary families out there whose ancestors may have originated from this townland ???
Investigating a possible link between families  ;D

Hallo there, thanks for the info.....it's just a thought I had!!

Was hoping that the LEARY'S from that townland would have offspring interested in genealogy that maybe we could compare notes.

Behaghane and Brackaharagh are quite close and thought there may be a connection between the Leary families. ;D

Hi, I just found this post while doing a google search for Behaghane, and then I noticed the post was in 2008 so I'm a bit late in replying, but here goes anyway...

My great great grandad and grandma were James Murphy and Ellen O'Leary who were both baptised at Behaghane, James in 1844 and Ellen in 1850.

They married at Caherdaniel in 1867 and had children and then the family moved to Dowlais in south Wales around 1875.

You probably know this already but it's worth a mention just in case you don't, the records for baptisms and marriages for the parish are all free to access on the wonderful web site www.irishgenealogy.ie

I'd be really interested to swap more info with you and learn about any links with your Learys or Murphys, send me a private message if you're interested.

Best wishes,
Cate
