John HUDSON marriage to Ann - Putney area?
« on: Tuesday 03 June 08 16:33 BST (UK) »
John Hudson and Ann had a Rosetta baptised in Putney in 1814 (IGI). I'm looking for John and Ann's marriage. No obvious sibs. I'm assuming therefore a date of pre-1814 but of course there may also be older children I haven't found.

Rosetta gave Clapham and Richmond as alternative birthplaces on other censuses, so this is one of THOSE. Thought I'd try Surrey first.

Hi

Always a possibility but nothing to back it up apart from its proximity to Richmond

IGI extracted
John Hudson
Ann Jux
25th December 1811
Kingston upon Thames

Yes, I saw that one, and wondered myself. I'll keep a note of it, just in case.

This could be it, actually. I Googled "Jux family" as it is such an unusual name, and the first hit led me to a thread on Ancestry about the Jux's of Putney. I'm going to follow that up as it's too much of a coinkidink to ignore!

That Jux link certainly does seem promising.

I trawled the IGI for Richmond / Kew/ Mortlake in the hope of some more Hudson baptisms but nothing. Typical for searches in that area though.

Sorry I meant baptisms to John and Ann  - I'm having a bad day, must be the rain  :-[

I found two other Hudson baptisms in Putney, but different parents. I'll list them for entertainment purposes only, as one has a funny name. It seems to be funny name day today:) It may help anyone else looking.
