Most of my ancestry hails from around the parish of beith, however, my gt gt gt grandparents shifted to Kilmarnock in the 1850's prior to immigrating to New Zealand.
Keep in touch as we may find a thread that connects our two families.

Nice to hear from you
Paddy

Hi
Im much earlier than that.
The earliest Ive noted are:
Hugh Patrick,Farmer, of Kaimshill,Parish of Riccarton married Elizabeth Galt,Parish of Kilmarnock on 22nd Feb 1701 at Riccarton. They had 7 children that Ive found. Their daughter,Mary,b 1718
married Wm.Lymeburner,b 1708, in 1735 at Dreghorn. Kaimshill was an estate, which sadly is now in a state od disrepair. I do have lots of relatives in the Beith area, but slightly later on & mainly Highets,Montgomeries & Whitefords,if thats any help.

Cheers
Mary

Thank you for taking a look to check if our Patrick's linked.
Sadly I do not recognize any of those names.

I am desperate to try and find out if my Patrick lineage links up with the early Patrick's in Ayrshire  i.e. William Patrick & John Patrick  - as like many other old Patrick families, the names William & John were constant throughout many generations of my ancestry.
My father was the 7th direct descendant [eldest son of the eldest son etc] to be named William.  A naming tradition which spanned from 1750 to 2008.

thanks for connecting
Paddy

Hi
Sorry that we havent found a match, but Ive not really done much about the Patricks.
Incidently, the children I have to the marriage in 1701 are:
Elizabeth 1706/Margaret 1708/Hugh 1712/Agnes 1713/Hugh 1715/Mary 1718/James 1721.
I must say I wonder if anyone is missing between 1701 & 1706,but I would need to look up the Riccarton OPR for that.

Ive also got a later Mary Patrick, born 1825 to a James Patrick & Agnes Highgate in Dreghorn.
Its the Highgate tree that Ive been doing.

Good luck

Mary
