« on: Wednesday 04 June 08 18:45 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is the name of a house or a road in carnarvon?
my mother in law is a descendant of hugh humphreys who was born in llanbeblig, was also mayor and something to do with the weslyan methodist church, he built pasternoster (sp) buildings in castle square carnarvon
i was wondering if Hendregaerog still exists

It appears to be a place.  If you type HENDREGAEROG into Google youll see that there was a family of that name of Caernarvon  There is also a mention of an H. Humphrey of Caernarvon.
I should have said H. Humphrey of Hendregaerog, Caernarvon.

Hi Doreen and Isles,

thanls for your reply, i did check briefly on that site but didnt really find anything, and i also googled the name,
i looked up on the 1871 census and found out hugh lived at 2 south street and in brackets underneath is Hendregaerog, so it was the name of their house
will see if i can find out anything about south street.

Hello
My great great grandfather was Hugh Humphreys. I would love to know who your mother in law is and how I can help. I have on a long ago visit to Caernarvon seen the house and his workplace in Castle Square. I have not been able to open the links sent to you and wonder if the one relating to his daughter’s wedding was my great grandmother?

Welcome to Rootschat.

The link description suggests it's an item from 1878.

This is an account of the marriage of his daughter Miss J M Humphreys in December of that year
