First, a warm welcome (croeso cynnes) to Rootschat

Lengthy article
https://journals.library.wales/view/2373330/2495351/1#?xywh=-395%2C250%2C2926%2C1877&cv=1

A description of him reads -
"At that time he was, maybe, 43 years old. Physically short, but broad and strong, and yet surefooted and nimble/quick. A short neck, black hair and eyes, a broad, full face, dress neat and tidy, and of a clerical character. A keen, quick, exciting and adventurous/bold mind. Fluent of speech, charming and irrepressible, the embodiment of the literary man, the preacher and the merchant/businessman in one person. A man who had started out small and through overcoming many difficulties, had risen to a respectable  and well off/comfortable situation. In his day there was no one more adventurous. He raised the world of books to the nation's notice, and started a new period in the story of inexpensive literature for people. He wasn't perfect in every way, no more than others of the children of men, except he possessed many advantages/excellent qualities. He lived a busy and productive life, reached a great age, and died in peace at the start of May, when the birds of summer were starting to sing in the woods of Hendregaerog"

Two poems, one in Welsh, one in English. The English one is by Hugh's eldest daughter Elizabeth -

Thank you so much. What is the origin of the tribute to him? I have many photos and a portrait of him and his wife. As he promoted photography we have a few family pictures. I would love to hear from the lady who posted in 2006 (?) whose mother in law must be a relative of mine
