1841-1861 CENSUS LOOK UP- OLD WINDSOR
« on: Thursday 20 January 05 18:19 GMT (UK) »
looking for STEPHEN WILLIAM JOHN GOWER (born 1823) who married ANN SHERARD in 1851 in OLD WINDSOR. He had a brother Thomas and father was Thomas  (believed died pre 1851) and mother Sarah. His father was a pork butcher in Old Windsor. Any further information would be much appreciated.

hello Julie,
1861 census.
I have tried a search using Gower b 1823, I have searched Ann Gower, I have searched using Stephen William John Gower b 1823,
the results are too many to pin down on all combinations, for close matches, I really need to know where he was born to eliminate some and also Ann dob? where born?
The 1861 census is also on line (some counties) at
www. 1837online.com
if you wanted to search.

hello both

The only info I have which I'm trying to verify as it was passed to me without any verification is Stephen William John Gower c.27/4/1823 Old Windsor occupation boot front blocker. He had a brother Thomas Gower c. 2/7/1820 Old Windsor. Parents Thomas Gower c.21/2/1796 Crowhurst Surrey and Sarah Harris. Father Thomas was a pork butcher.
Stephen William John Gower married Ann Sherard in Mar 1851.

Thanks for your help Debbie's JOhn wouldn't seem to be him. A relative perhaps?

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Julie
