Where will I find Sandsend on the 1851 census
« on: Saturday 07 June 08 12:47 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to find out for sometime where I would find the census records for 1851 recordered for Sandsend near Whitby (about 2 miles away).  Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated. Sandsend is a small village but I believe in the 1850s more people lived there than they do now.

Kind regards Susan

Thanks for reply Pam, that is my problem I don't have any names or ages only an address of Low Row Sandsend, these were tiny cottages origionally used to house the alum workers in.  There were only 6 original cottages so my idea! was to find the cottages and their occupants in 1851 and go from there, it seemed a good idea at the time. Thanks again for your reply

Kind regards Susan
