It certainly looks as if James, and Robina jnr both followed naming patterns for their respective children.
So, Robina Hunter's eldest son is probably after a father-in-law named "Robert", and James' 2nd son is probably named after a father-in-law named "David".
Also, it is very likely Robina, though married in Midlothian, went back to Mum to have her first baby. Therefore, Robina snr may have been living in Coalsnaughton, Tillicoultry in at least 1895/96. The Coalsnaughton Mine is possibly where Peter Snr worked?
I can't see any specific accident here circa 1894 which may have led to Peter Snr's death but this is a great site anyway:
http://www.mining-villages.co.uk/344.htmlHere is a website, with your STENHOUSE on it.
http://www.geocities.com/tetley_56/rstenhouse_mburt.htmlIt shows Peter Burt STENHOUSE and Robina GORDON, and also the wife and children of their son, Peter.
Also mentioned in this site, part way down the page (same tree owner as the one above)
