What was the local paper called?
« on: Wednesday 11 June 08 12:34 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know what the local newspaper would have been for Bonnybridge during the WW1 (1914 - 1919)
I'm trying to see if I can find anything about mt great uncle Charles S Boyle who was awarded the Militery Medal and Croix De Guierre for his efforts during WW1.

Hi Gerry,

The newspaper you're looking for is The Falkirk Herald.

Falkirk Library has it on microfilm.

I've also replied to your other post regarding Camelon Cemetery

Thanks Again,

That gives me somewhere to start looking for any stories relating to Charles winning his Cruix De Guerre.

Hello Gerry,

Have you downloaded his medal roll from the National Archive?

Link below takes you to a page telling you how to access info on gallantry medal winners.  Have you also posted your enquiry on the WW1 forum?

Away now for a few days. Good luck with your search.  Regards,   Steve   :O)
