Approx 200 Sea men and their families receiving aid

I've just uploaded about 200 names of sea men and their family on the West coast of Cumberland in receipt of aid in 1822.

These are from the West Cumberland Pacquet, not original document, but there's much in there that won't be found in Archives!

(Surnames starting A to H, rest to come)

Town of abode is given and whether a widow, child, woman with children, crippled, superannuated and similar.  Mostly full names given.

By the way, this site is in its infancy. Nothing pretty yey.  I'm prioritising getting the info up.

I apologose to anyone who wondered what happened to the old "Fells and Seas".  I'm hoping toinclude it and get it working and then revamp it. 

It came a cropper when my opiginal computer blew, when the city generator blew in the Carlisle floods three years ago..  Since then I've subsisted on various loaned computers and ones I've had the use of, not a happy life for a web site!  I'm hoping this is more long term!

Not quite spot on yet, but large photo's of six side memorial to all those who fell and have a War Grave in the cemetery.

Well over 100 names, including those buried in Upperby and Stanwix cemeteries.  Covers all three forces including some individuals from abroad.  Certainly some Canadian Airforce.

The thumb nails haven't come up and the photo's need reducing a bit but you're welcome to look while i'm playing.  Unfortunately I need to do one side again which seems to have gone adrift and it's a side with members of the Border Regiment on.  You can just about see them from one of the other photo's.

If anyone would like a photo of an individual Wargrave you're welcome, so long as either you know it's number, or it's on one of the main areas.

If it's not, I'm happy to find out with a rough date, but it involves a trip to the record office, and I won't be up there quite yet, so it could be a llittle wait unless you can get someone else to do that.

Feel free to ask though.
