James Grieve Earlston 1841
« on: Sunday 15 June 08 20:47 BST (UK) »
James Grieve  was born in Earlston about 1840.  On his marriage certificate in 1860 in Edinburgh, his parents are James Grieve, Saddler  deceased and Helen Simpson, deceased.  I haven't found a marriage for James and Helen yet.

I looked for death records for James and Helen from 1855 - 1860, but didn't find them.  I'll try  again soon.
When James Jr died in 1887, his wife recorded his parents as Js Grieve, a Saddler, and Ellen Simpson
Can anyone find the family in 1841?

Thank you both so much - I can't believe you have replied so quickly.  Lots of new names for me to work on now.
BUT I'm really chancing my luck now - any chance you can find them in 1851?  Parents were both deceased by 1861, just interesting to know if they were alive in 1851 and if not, where the children were.  I really appreciate your help.
