I make it out as 'Typhus'. Typhus differs from Typhoid. Chambers Twenty Century Dictionary defines the two:
typhoid, adj. like typhus - n. (for typhoid fever) enteric fever, long confounded with typhus, on account of the characteristic rash of rose-coloured spots.
typhus, a dangerous fever transmitted by lice harbouring a Rickettsia and marked by eruption of red spots.
